Random from Japan

One reason we don't have a pet in Japan.

This photo was taken on 1/19. We were doing some shopping in a neighboring town. We went into a DIY store that also had a pet section. The boys wanted to see the animals. I knew pets were expensive but I was shocked at the price on this kitten. By today's exchange rate it would be $2976.00.

    strays are just not possible there! Do they insure their pets? health/theft wow! anything you want shipped? needs?

    @Caroline: I'm not sure why this cat was so expensive. The one above it is only about half the price. Usually dogs and cats in pet stores are about $900 to $1000 dollars. Less, but still a lot.

    @Teresa: I wondered the same thing about insurance. They do have strays and animal rescue, so I'm not sure why they charge such outrageous amounts.
